If you're considering to commission me, please read carefully the following guidelines, to avoid a misunderstanding. Something that helps a lot to get a better commissioned work, is to check my galleries thoroughly, to find out which style you like the best (considering the fact that there are several styles inside the same gallery). Note: all prices are marked in american dollars.

Pinups:
1) There isn't a fixed price per Pinup. However, there is a minimum price of $300.00 per person in a Pinup. The potential client needs to contact me (at popswong@popeyewong.com), to describe me her/his request. After reviewing that information, I'll be able to quote an exact price.
2) The price is set based on a series of factors (for example, the size of the piece). When you send me your description, please include the following information: SIZE of the artwork (minimum size of 8.5"x11") and MEDIUM of the artwork (oils, acrylics, pastels, digital). Note: black & white Pinups done in graphite pencil are available too, please contact me for a quote on this kind of artwork.
3) At least one photo for reference is strictly needed. If you only want your face to be used as a reference, please let me know, and I'll add a body from my own reference material. However, my advice is always to go with your own body. Pleae note that if you don't provide a reference photo for the body, the price of the artwork will be higher, since it takes time to find the right reference on my own. I'l need to see the quality of the photo(s) first (lighting, contrast, color, etc.), to decide if I can actually do a painting out of it.
4) Once the reference photo(s) is/are approved, a deposit of $100.00 needs to be paid in advance (and it will be refundable during the early stages of the project). This is to assure compromise from the client to the project. The rest of the money should be paid at the end of the project. Please DO NOT send any money for deposit, until you receive my confirmation, stating that I'm accepting to do your commission. The number of commissions that I'll be able to take will depend on my work load.
5) Once the client has sent all the descriptions, a sketch will be sent to her/him, for approval. It is in this stage when any change can be made, including starting over a new sketch. However, only ONE drastic changes of mind like this will be allowed. If after one different sketches the client is still unsatisfied, her/his deposit of $100.00 will be refunded, without any further compromise or penalty. If the project keeps going past this stage, the $100.00 is no longer refundable.

6) After the sketch has been approved, the painting process starts. When this stage is over, a sample is sent to the client for her/his final approval. In this stage it is possible to make subtle changes to the Pinup (like changing the hair color.). If the client is not satisfied with the final result, she/he won't need to pay any more money (however, the $100.00 deposit won't be reimbursed and she/he won't receive any artwork).
7) The original artwork is shipped to the client (at her/his own expense) via USPS. In the case of digital artwork, a high resolution file is sent to the client, and this file can be used to print unlimited copies, for personal, non-commercial use.
8) I retain all copyrights, therefore, I reserve the right to include (or not to include) the image in my galleries. Any commissioned image, the moment it is posted on my website, is automatically free for use by anybody (non-profit purposes). I also reserve the right to sell that image, for example, as a print.

Cartoons:
1) The cost per character is $60.00, and there is no limit in how many characters can be included in a single cartoon. For example: if you want a cartoon with two persons in the same drawing, the total price will be $120.00 ($60.00x2).
2) A deposit of $30.00 needs to be paid in advance (and it will be refundable during the early stages of the project). This is to assure compromise from the client to the project. The rest of the money should be paid at the end of the project. Please DO NOT send any money for deposit, until you receive my confirmation, stating that I'm accepting to do your commission. The number of commissions that I'll be able to take will depend on my work load. In general, commissioned work is taken in first-come, first-served basis.
3) The client will need to provide a description of the features of the cartoon. The description can be short or long, at the client's discretion, and it can include all kind of details, like hair color, eye color, pose, attitude, outfit, etc. In general, the more details, the better.
4) The client can send a photo, of her/himself, or of another person (with the proper permission), so the cartoon can be based on it. Note: the fact that the cartoon will be based on the photo, doesn't mean that it will look like a portrait. I use the photograph to base my work on it, trying to get a little of the client's personality and project it in the cartoon.
5) Once the client has sent all the descriptions, a sketch will be sent to her/him, for approval. It is in this stage when any change can be made, including starting over a new sketch. However, only THREE drastic changes of mind like this will be allowed. If after three different sketches the client is still unsatisfied, her/his deposit of $30.00 will be refunded, without any further compromise or penalty. If the project keeps going past this stage, the $30.00 is no longer refundable.
6) After the sketch has been approved, the cartoon is digitally colored. When this stage is over, a sample is sent to the client for her/his final approval. In this stage it is possible to make changes to the cartoon, as long as they're not too drastic (examples of permissible changes are: changing the hair color, outfit props, etc.). If the client is not satisfied with the final result, she/he won't need to pay any more money (however, the $30.00 deposit won't be reimbursed).
7) A high resolution file is sent to the client, and this file can be used to print unlimited copies, for personal, non-commercial use. Note for taggers: if the client wants to, a tube of the cartoon will be provided at no additional cost, however, this tube will be sent only if requested. The tagger (client) is allowed to use or share the tube with anybody, anywhere, and of course, is allowed to do tags with no restriction on it.
8) I retain all copyrights, therefore, I reserve the right to include (or not to include) the image in my galleries. Any commissioned image, the moment it is posted on my website, is automatically free for use by anybody (non-profit purposes). I also reserve the right to sell that image, for example, as a print.
